The bottom line is that in time, the UK will have nothing to do with F1, thre is a good chance that they do not even have a race.
That's funny! It's like saying the USA will have nothing to do with McDonalds lol!!
If the current trend that independent privateers disappear and are replaced by manufacturing giants continues, then the Designer's prophecy may well prove to be correct. Remember there are massive companies still outside, the likes of Porsche/VW, the Koreans etc - why would you think the expertise currently accumulated in a few square kilometers could not be successfully disseminated across other parts of the world? Munich and Hinwil is just one very tempting example.

Every car (excluding Ferrari, the 1968 Matra and maybe a Brabham-Repco) that has won the constructors world championship has been built in england. The top designers are from england. Toyota has run it's team from Germany for nearly 10 years now and they have won jack. Renault have there own team but still build there car in England. Force India don't build there car in Bombay

Every Schumacher car was penned by a Englishman. Massa's race engineer is a Yorkshireman. F1 is run by a Englishman and the FIA president is an Englishman. Schumacher's win's were mastermind by a Englishman. More Englishmen have won the world championship than any other nationality. The current championship leader is an Englishman.

But most importantly Murray Walker is a Englishman

I don't think D's prophecy is going to happen?

Very little worthwhile has come from all the hype, publicity and funding that fuel cell technology has received. The automotive industry has basically used it as a decoy to make the world think that they were doing something. The technology in all its forms today does not translate well to many stationary applications, let along mobile applications such as cars.

The KERS concept is very interesting and applicable to a road car. It won't make many purists happy because they believe that raw fuel is the only way to make horsepower. Recovering energy, particularly the kind of energy that absorbed when braking an F1 car, is a long over-due concept.

It adds a dimension to F1 that has been lacking for a while... the ability to be fundamentally innovative in design.

It is better to have won a WDC and be critized than not to have won at all...

As for Senna, it does not matter what any of us think, all that matters is reality. The fact is that the ONLY time Senna got the better of Prost, was when Senna was given special treatment from McLaren and Honda. Now that is a fact, not some unsupported theory. Not so, when they own the company, you will see more and more of the team going to Germany. As for Woking, of course I understand how much money has been invested, that however can be used for multi purpose, with high end sports cars high on the list! They will own the entire company, it will happen. The real question is will they keep the name McLaren, one would think so, however nothing will be written in stone.

Max rightly won this case, because the case was about intrusion of privacy, and NotW plainly invaded his privacy. He did not win a case of defamation, which he could have sued for, if he wished... Why did he not do so?

Suppose Mosley had actually worn a Nazi emblem during his session. Then it would be quite reasonable to say that the role-play was Nazi-themed. This wouldn't have proved that Max was a Nazi or someone who practised Nazism - other than in personal fantasies. Nevertheless, fantasising involving Nazism would be sufficiently repulsive to many in the public for Max to have been forced to step down.

NotW's failure to produce conclusive evidence of a Nazi-theme does not mean that Max is innocent of this. If the burden of proof were on Max, he'd have found it hard to demonstrate that there was no Nazi theme. Indeed, I (and a few psychologists) would maintain that it is precisely his family background and personality that make it plausible that the role-play was either consciously or sub-consciously Nazi-inspired. Of course, he shouldn't be punished for his family background. Of course, a Court should not state that there was Nazi-inspiration unless it is very sure that there was. So, I don't expect a Court to explicitly say that NotW was justified. But the actions of Max and the Court's judgement lead me to feel quite (but not totally) sure that Max's role-plays were Nazi-inspired if not Nazi-themed.

Others may disagree with my conclusion about the Nazi thing. But what about Max's defence that part of his fantasy involved punishing a prostitute for seducing a child? Obviously there was no actual paedophilia. But there was no 'real' Nazism (and there wouldn't have been even if Max had worn a swastika) - there was only a fantasy allegedly involving Nazism - and this was repulsive enough for most people.

Why isn't a fantasy that indirectly involves paedophilia, that has actually been admitted by Max's own lawyers, similarly repulsive?

It is all conjecture, when we talk about the spirit of the rules. If it is deemed to have gained an advantage and it is outside the specific rule, the team will lose points and other sanctions. If it is deemed as another form of TC, it will be the end of Dennis and Co, Mercedes will take over.

I'm not convinced at all if that's the right technology for the future. Road cars aro not going use too much. Rather, R&D will be in the fuel cell technology which is a different thing from specifically using brake energy... Inasmuch they overlap (storage know how) that may well be useful, but otherwise that should end up as a dead end - I'm afraid.

Better have a fuel limit for the race, and that would be it.

I have read it several places that MS is testing. I will provide details as soon as I find them. But if I am correct that would be my point. That it is becoming a MS car and that could be an explanation for the car going backwards as far as the current drivers are concerned and not quite so much with Massa because MS was his mentor.And again if I am correct and it is becoming an MS car, It would not fit Kimi's likes nor his mental attitude just for that reason.

The easiest method would be to make all yellow-flag zones pit-lane-speed-limited. Note that Safety Car periods of races are full-course yellows by definition. That would solve several problems at once; everyone could keep their fair advantage, everyone would be at more or less the same speed, everyone would slow down at about the same time (on seeing the yellow flags and/or opponent's pit-lane limiters engaging, the button would be hit) genuine accident damage and natural pit stops could be taken, unnatural pitstops would be at least safe (since nobody would be going excessively quickly), the number taken would be reduced because there'd be a lot less benefit from taking them, there'd be agreement over whether yellow-flag zones had been respected in given instances and you wouldn't need a Safety Car.

I'd think more of moving floor or dampers cases - rule them incompatible with the 'spirit of the rules' whatever it may mean, and perhaps issue an explanatory letter banning it for the future

Although I cannot see how this could amount to TC, no way - there is only one strictly defined prohibition in F1 regs of which Hughes writes

In other words, the moment the SC light comes on in the car, no passing, no gaining an adavantage, make the speed say 80kph. Nobody would lose their advantage earned while racing and nobody would gain, if you are in the pits when the SC light comes on, you are frozen in the pits and join at the tail end!

Dear vanwall I was saying of qualifying difference about 0,5 to 1s was not verified as it was in the race. Lewis was in pole but by a small margin. That happened in the past already and mean very little because that difference was very narrow.

Here you can see the "movable" bridge.

Cars will be coming from that long turn at 298 Km/h. Then, they'll pass throught that bridge at 163Km/h and accelerating, ending the bridge at 181Km/h. The track is more wided than how it looks in pics

If they were in equal cars, I would bet anything that Massa is better than Hamilton. While I may not bet the farm against Kimi, I would be willing to bet it would be very close between the two Ferrari drivers, I just feel that kimi is better at squeezing out a special lap. Both however are very fast, with the nod maybe going to Massa, if so only just. One thing is for sure, Kimi has learned to fight to the end, that every point counts, that is critical in taking the title!

My view is that was a perception not a reality. For my money, Massa is many times the driver Hamilton is, in equql cars, I feel Massa would dominate him. As for Kimi and Massa, they do seem to be very evenly matched, if that is the case, then Michael was much better than any of us thought!

Nobody was saying anything about Senna, it was about the way that Prost was treated by McLaren in favor of Senna, it is a statement of fact!

I have read it several places that MS is testing. I will provide details as soon as I find them. But if I am correct that would be my point. That it is becoming a MS car and that could be an explanation for the car going backwards as far as the current drivers are concerned and not quite so much with Massa because MS was his mentor.And again if I am correct and it is becoming an MS car, It would not fit Kimi's likes nor his mental attitude just for that reason.

Hi Dino, nice to be posting. Just feel that the McLaren is miles better than the Ferrari. Have a hard time believing that Hamilton has had to compete on a level playing field, the fact that he was faster than Alonso, is a tell tell sign. As for Massa, there is little doubt, that he is very very quick, if he has a weakness, it is that he is to emotional and it hurts him. When he is on, he is by far the best driver in F1. Kimi looks as though he has figured out a way to take the title, by driving within himself. My pick for the title, Kimi!
