Well, the Ryder Cup is just a couple of weeks away. The European team's just been finalised and Faldo's announced his two wildcards - Paul Casey and Ian Poulter. Personally I'm surprised that he didn't pick Darren Clarke, I think he'd have been a much better choice than Poulter. I also think that Faldo isn't a good choice for captain, but anyway we've still got a strong team so hopefully will be able to retain the cup! Harrington's in great form, and there's no Tiger for the Americans, not that he's ever done well in the Ryder Cup.

Why is Nick F not a great choice, he is the only proven winner. Darren Clarke does well in match play and should be in the side. America will be better without Tiger, so much so, that I feel that this time they will take the win.

I think that America will get thrashed again. I can't wait to see Azinger crying Big Grin

Faldo is very much his own man not a team leader.Darren should be- in but Monty has had is his day good choice to leave him out.

Faldo was a great golfer, but won't be a great team leader I don't think. He's not a team person, he won't be liked by the team I don't think, and they won't have the great team spirit we've had in recent years because of it. It would have been better to keep Woosie. I'm not so confident this time around, but we will see!

Woosie and Monty are finished and neither would be a good leader. Nick Faldo has never been liked by the English media, yet he is like by his fellow Brits and he has a lot of time for them on the PGA. He will be a good leader, just think that America without Tiger will adopt the underdog role and will play to a better level. America to win by a large margin!

If America get some scores on the board early then they have a chance. If not then it could be carnage again

Let us hope that the distraction techniques practised by the US crowd are a thing of the past.

I hope so but i doubt it. The american players can be bad sports too. The famous skip across the green was disgraceful! Olazábal still had a put

Before the players ever made it to the first tee Friday, the battle within the gallery had already begun.

Waiting for the first foursome to finish up on the practice range, U.S. fans began a rousing “U.S.A.” chant. Euro fans, several wearing the Euro team’s blue flag with gold stars as a cape, responded with a sing-songy “Eurrrr-up, Eurrrr-up.” They followed it up with the ubiquitous “Ole” chant heard often at European soccer matches.

Undaunted, U.S. fans fired back with a chant of “soccer sucks” as the stands—the Euros included—laughed.

Colin Montgomerie’s presence was felt at Valhalla, sort of. A group of European fans toted a life-size cardboard cutout of Montgomerie around the grounds.

The cutout was done up to make the Scotsman proud. The figure was adorned in a red tartan plaid kilt and a blue waistcoat with silver button and a sash. A look also modeled by the men who brought the cutout.

I think Azinger pairing Mickelson with the kid Kim was very smart. He's intense but enjoying it. Lots of high 5's. He had a photographer kicked completely of the course for clicking early.

Yanks seem to be real tough on the back nine.

I thought it was gripping entertainment. I enjoyed it. Sergio's scream was cool. The players really felt the pressure. Faldo was right about Poulter. Will be close Sunday.
