Adam its got nothing to do with being spanish, or english or german or whatever. Certain drivers are more exciting to watch then others. vettel is very good, one of the best new comers, but i must be honest, so far he has not really excited me, hes very 2dimensional. Someone like Rossi would bring personality and excitement, plus he is a very talented driver still, why give a youngster a drive in F1 when someone like Rossi only has limited years left in him to give F1 a go, alot of people want to see this happen, its exciting. Makes the sport worth watching. The anti alonso thing was not cause he was spanish it was to with attitude with hamilton, and hamilton, there was lots of anti hamilton aswell. I think this has calmed down and people are willing to give them both another chance.

In my personal opinion F1 has been slightly boring in terms of rivalry since the Schumi and Mika days. Drivers which had great respect for one another.

But stop with this everyone hates me cause i am spanish.

Life after Schumacher, interesting.

When the Sato/Buemi issue, it was rumoured also the Loeb stuff. However, people's oppinion here was very different and focused their stuff in seeing Buemi or Sato getting the seat.

Now surprisingly things become totally different, and people start claiming over and over again that I want Jaime IN because he's Spanish. How on earth you don't want me to think that this is all an anti-Spanish thing?

And now, I wasn't talking about that era. I remember that around 2005 people here was very very anti-Alonso. Most of people rated him quite low, always saying he would fail under pressure or that he would not show anything great (NeoBaltic and several british and australians btw were one of them). Time proved they were completely wrong.

I respect why you want those two to enter to F1. You showed your opinion without insulting and provoking or inviting to leave the thread unlike NeoBaltic or Vanwall.

But I still differ. That excitement of Rossi or Loeb is still a guess, something unproved, probably the only excitement would be seeing that "great guy from Moto GP" or "that great guy from Rally", but once we got used to their presence it would not be a big deal IMO. And the result would be the same as we got with those "great guy from IRL" or those "great guys from Champcar".

Adam if I have upset you I apologise.

I have been following F1 before you were born I suspect. I am an enthusiast. Correct me if I am wrong but I feel you are not a F1 follower but a follower of Spanish drivers. Nothing wrong in that, but no Spaniard no Adam I feel. Frankly I do not care an iota of a drivers nationality. The only drivers I like are the racers who can come from the moon for all I care.

I rank racers as the likes of GV, Mansell, Senna etc and yes possibly Hamilton.

Recently my resolve in F1 has been tested with all this political intrigue.

Despite that Alonso made me to switch to F1, I would see very hard for me to quit watching F1. Despite that Alonso is having two difficult seasons due his crap car, I'm still enjoying the races as much as I can. Last year I was a hardcore supporter of Kubica and this year I'm enjoying the work of the Red Bull drivers, Massa among others too. There are several drivers I want to get good results and most of them are not spanish.

But I don't know what this has to do with my point of wanting Jaime to F1. Since I started watching F1 because of Alonso, all my points regarding Spanish drivers are wrong?

I think my point about wanting Jaime is quite respetable and sensible. I provided some stats about him, so I don't see the point of saying that I just want him to be in F1 because he's Spaniard.

Adam I agree he appears to be a contender but to the world at large Loeb and \rossi would have more appeal.

I would like to see Vitaly Petrov get a chance. He really goes for victory. With Bern wanting Moscow GP, he would fire up the Russian viewers.

I would love to see either or both of Rossi and Loeb in F1.

For them to enter two people would have to be dropped. Assuming Bordais's place has already been taken, i would nominate Heidfeld and Kovalainen to ge the boot.

Burdais is one of those stories I would have liked to happen, as GF finally got a good car he will deliver, RB will show us he's not a number 2 driver, among others.

My take is that you need to have a young mind to be able to adapt to F1, because it is a very unique environment very different to other racing series.

F1 is like Wall Street maybe, a very hostile environment where not many people can work happily and prosper. And if you are not happy doing what you do, you will hardly excel. Young drivers have a plasticine mind, they'll grow thinking normal is F1 and odd the rest, life is hanging around in the field as long as you can to collect as much money as you can no matter how bad you do, and then go to DTM or something similar.

Webber's last acomplishment is nice news, finally you feel that at least in that case the wait was worth it.

Loeb, that's another fairy tale I'd love to give a try.Smile

I think Heidi still has got a few years in F1. A reliable and solid warrior. In a Brown, he would be another Jenson

Guys people have the right to disagree or agree, thats the point of this forum. Kinda gets boring if everyone always agrees.
